You should always be ready to help a person who is really hungry or in want or distress. This is right, good and true. However, be sure that you do not make a parasite of the other.
Your assistance must always be based on Divine guidance and your motivation must be to help them to help themselves. Teach the other where to find the riches of life and how to become self-reliant and how to contribute their best to humanity, and they will never want a bowl of soup, an old suit of clothes, or a handout.
