Thought For Today - 6/30/10

Happiness is wimpy. It disappears every time there’s trouble.

But joy is tough. If you will allow it, joy will keep flowing in the midst of the most miserable situation. Joy will enable you to stand as solid as a stump until the time of trouble is over.

Thought For Today - 6/29/10

No matter what we do, God's love for us never changes. When we get into a mess, He wants to help us get out.

He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Pleasing God is as simple as getting in a position to receive all that is in His heart to give.

He is a loving Daddy who wants to help us. He delights in our prosperity and well-being.

Most of us would deny the fact that we hate anyone because hate is such a strong term.

But the truth is, if we’re not exercising the love of God toward the people around us, we are hating them. There is no in between, only varying degrees of intensity.

If you are not endeavoring to grow and walk in love with the people around you, you are in darkness and you are deceived.

Without love, whatever you do will fall short of the glory of God. And without the glory of God in what you do, you might as well not bother to do it at all.

I was sharing with a friend the other day that I have been released and forgiven from so many failures in my life. I need God's grace in my life everyday.

When I remind myself of this, I re-discover a fresh motivation to serve again and again and again with the attitude "I will do whatever it takes, whenever it is needed to make a difference in someones life."

From person experience, I now understand that sometimes the best way out of my hurt is when I choose to look outside myself to notice another person's pain.

Here lies another opportunity to serve others and see my own personal situations turn around for my good.

As God reveals His Master Plan for my life, I must avoid getting ahead of His vision for me.

I cannot do what God has called me to do alone, and no matter how prepared I think I am, no matter how great I believe I am, I can't possibly do His Master Plan.

I have neither the resources, the manpower, nor the ability - only He - God does. Something to think about?

A true fact, I will not find true light in the world. I will only find light in God, who gives it to me that I might extend it to every living thing.

Eventually, darkness will be no more if everyone did this.

Only God knows how much our lives will be prolonged because we have followed His instructions about not worrying.

Only God knows how many years we might have lost had we disobeyed Him and gotten stressed out over money issues.

I have no doubt the pressure of it would have affected my health by now. But, thank God, the Word protected me and kept that from happening! I enabled me to have peaceful days even when I was facing financial challenges

The Word worked - as it always does - for my good!

If you want to condition your heart to be in the habit of believing, then you must give God's Word first place in your life. You must feed it into your heart constantly.

And you have to realize that the Word is actually God speaking to you, personally. It is not just a lot of information for your head to carry around.

When I think right - the future is always the present thought made manifest. Change your thinking today and you can make it peaceful and successful! This way of thinking will also change your destiny!

The Word of God will separate you from the world. His Word will set His dream for victory into motion in your life! Just receive it and believe it, speak it and act on it, that Word will set you apart from those around you. It will take you from trouble to triumph again and again!

Thought For Today - 6/16/10

Real faith believes what the Word of God says even though eyes and feelings say something different. Faith does not care what the symptoms are. It does not care how the circumstances look. It is not moved by what the banker says, or the doctor, or the lawyer, or the bill collector.

Faith in God’s Word will change the symptoms. It will change the bank. It will bring the money to get the bills paid. Faith will turn every defeat into victory. It is God’s success formula!

I had to give faith an opportunity to work. I had to keep God’s Word in my mouth and meditate on it in my heart. I also had to determine in my heart to only speak God’s Word out of my mouth and to speak nothing contrary to His Word.

You will have to do the same.

Thought For Today - 6/15/10

Darkness will not sit idly by while you sail through life, effortlessly believing the Word of God and His promises for you!

Darkness will pressure you with challenging times. Darkness will attack you with sickness or lack, then it will lie to you and tell you that God does not care about you at all!

Darkness will try to convince you that God is not going to answer your prayer this time. Darkness will attempt to talk you into believing there is no way out and that you will end up a miserable failure.

When those challenging times come, do not cave in to pressure. Do not give up. Stand on the Word of God and His promises! I am!

I know you are busy. I'm busy.

There are tremendous demands made on us every day. But God promises that if we will keep His Word in front of us, if we will put it first place in our life, we will know how to prosper and succeed in all we do.

Thought For Today - 6/13/10

Listen, there is nothing more important than spending time with God in prayer and in the Word. Make whatever adjustments you must to spend time with God.

Whenever you take on anything new, count the cost—not just in money, but in time. Ask yourself, Can I afford this spiritually? Can I spare the precious hours and minutes this project (possession, hobby, etc.) will require and still have plenty of time to fellowship with God?

If the answer is no, then set that project aside. I realize that may mean passing up some things you enjoy, but remember, your aim is not to please yourself.

Walking in obedience and fellowship with God is “the good life.”

If you are a person of faith, it does not matter how dark conditions may seem to be right now, you can rest assured, a brighter day is on the way.

That’s because darkness cannot sustain an attack. Darkness dose not have the power. So if you’ll let the force of joy keep you strong, you will outlast darkness and it will eventually have to give up and admit defeat!

Why don’t we all constantly walk in love? Very often, it’s because we’re still wrapped up in old habits of thinking and reacting. We continue to live from the outside instead of from the inside where God (who is love) dwells.

But, we can shake off that stress. We can learn to walk in love. We can renew our mind according to what God says in His Word and what it says about love.

Today, choose to walk in forgiveness. Soon you will be feeling like the new person you really are...a new person living in love!

No matter where you are, there are hurting people in your community needing to be helped and served, people who need to be told they are not forgotten and are important to God.

I will make a difference to help these people and let them know that God yet loves them!

Sometimes God will give you only a notion or a tug or a hunch about a particular thing to do. If you will be faithful to go out on a limb and share this with others to work with you, you might be surprised at how quickly the vision is embraced!

Sometimes I look at people and the enemy tries to tell me they have an expiration date. I must never allow myself to become apathetic to this fact.

Now is the opportunity to serve. I will make the best of it! And, I would say it is all worth it. All the sweat, resources, battles, opposition, and fatigue - they are all worth it!

We have the privilege any time, day or night, to draw close to God and come into His presence. We can keep a running dialogue going with Him all day long. I do! We can continually be drawing strength from Him. I do!

God is always ready to listen and respond to us. It is perfectly fine to have your pastor or other mature believers pray for you. But it is more important that you and I pray

That is when we have the intimate fellowship with God. Call on Him today. He is always available and He is waiting to hear from you!
