Thought For Today - 2/28/09

Forget the idea that God has more important things to think about than you. (I hear this statement so much!) This thought is not humble. In reality it is a thinly disguised arrogance!

Could our God of the universe work at anything less than full capacity, surveying just some but not all of His creation? Please know, to God you are everything when He has become everything to you. His infinite love is forever at work. God has a plan for your life and all life. There is only one thing that can keep it from finding its way to the door of your life and that is you!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/27/09

You must have faith in God to change your circumstances. And, faith's power to change your circumstances is not going to operate in your life until you decide you are going to live by faith. This requires on your part a firm decision!

This decision is one on which you are willing to stake your very life. It's not an "ought to" decision. It's not a "probably" decision. It's a determined, resolved "I will" decision.

Until you come to this place in your life, God cannot and will not do a thing for you! You have to get fed up with where you are. You have to tear the darkness and negative yoke of bondage off your neck and throw it down. I HAD TO DO IT! All of heaven is waiting on your decision to live by faith in God.

You have got to say, "I'm coming out of this situation. I'm coming out by the power of God and I'm coming out by the Word of God. I have made my decision and from this point forward, nothing is going to change my mind."

When you have made this type of decision and statement, then and only then, are you ready to move on to the next step and phase in your life that God has for you!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/26/09

If you really want to receive everything from God He so greatly desires to give you, you must begin to cultivate expectancy!

A high level of expectancy is almost always a prerequisite for a miracle. The good new is that Jesus is always looking for a way to help us raise our level of expectation.

Spend the rest of this month and the entire next month in earnest expectation of the windows of heaven opening up and pouring out a blessing. Expect to be financially blessed. Expect to walk in health and to be healed when you don't. Expect to be promoted. Expect to have a great marriage.

Expect ALL the blessing of God to be yours in fullness here and now. It's what He wants for you. He says so in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

God's desires for you are peace, prosperity and for an expected end. In other words, "Don't let go of your earnest expectation. It will come in the end!"

When you pray according to God's Word, expect an answer!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/25/09

For years, I kept my heart closed to people which ended up keeping them at a distance. Yoga has helped me to open my heart and let the love of God shine. In doing this, my heart actually invited people into it.

I no longer have anything to hide. And, in opening up my heart to all to see, it promoted generosity, it prompted vulnerability, and demonstrated the love of God.

If you wish to leave this earth a better place than you found it, bringing out the best in others will require you to open and give them your heart!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/24/09

Are you doing what God called you to do? If you have not ever thought about it before, that my sound like an odd question to you. You may be tempted to shrug it off and say, "Oh, I'm not really called to do anything. I'm not a pastor or a preacher or minister of any kind . . . I guess I'm just waht you might call a little finger on the Body of Christ.

Let me say this, no matter who you are, God has put a holy calling in you. He has designed you and called you to meet a need in the Body of Christ that nobody else can meet quite like you can.

You may be called to be so successful in business you can finance the gospel worldwide. You may be called to a ministry of prayer and intercession. You may be called to a ministry of healing right there in your own neighborhood. But no matter what that calling is, it is important and you need to follow it!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/23/09

Do not center your attention on what you can see in this natural, physical realm. Everything you see is just temporal and will change. Put your faith in the unseen eternal realm. The things which are eternal will not change.

God's Word is eternal and it contains many, many promises to cover ANY CIRCUMSTANCE you will ever face. No matter what happens in this world, how it shifts, change, etc., God's promises will forever be the same!

Do not settle for the meager existence the world says you can only have. Lay hold on what the Word of God says you can have. Center your attention on the eternal truths of God and look not to the things which are seen.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/22/09

God is not against you having money. He is against money having you! He is against your making it your priority and putting your trust in it instead of in Him.

Why? Because God knows money makes a lousy god. Its' power is limited. It will only buy so much. It will only go so far.

If you need healing in your body of an incurable disease, money will not help you at all. If your family is falling apart, money will not put it back together. But, if you will seek God first, His prosperity will reach into every area of your life! I'm talking from personal experience too.

Set and keep your eyes on Him above everything else and all these things will be added to your life.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/21/09

I have not felt this way in several months. Around 4pm on Friday, February 20, heaviness came upon me. It was like a ton of depression, worries, anxieties, problems; troubles just fell on my chest.

I begin to ask God. What is going on? I had been feeling something in the spirit realm for the past couple of weeks. Things are moving around in the heavenliest.

Guys, we need God more than we have ever before in our lives! Our enemy is going about the land causing havoc to individuals and families. I know of several couples heading to divorce court. I know of several individuals that have been out of work for months, bills are past due, utilities are getting ready to be shut off, etc. Then, there are several families I know of that are having challenges with relatives, children, and parents. Also, I know of several individuals chasing $$ - moving from place to place, job to job, and yet, there is no peace resigning on the inside of them.

There is a secret place in God that we can abide. God is our refuge. I will only trust in Him. God will deliver you from whatever situation you are facing. We are not to be afraid. God has given His angels to keep us. Again, God will deliver us. If we call upon Him – He is there – even in the mist of trouble. Again, I say, God will deliver us!

I refused to take on the burdens of the world. I give them to Jesus. I refused to stay up at night worrying about situations. My Bible states that God never sleeps, so I’ll let Him stay up and take care of the situations.

In your quiet time – please read and study Psalms 112. This is the way God sees you and this is the way I will see you.

I love you and pray for you every day!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/20/09

Try this prayer for a month. Be sincere. Think deeply about it. Live up to it. When a problem arises ask yourself, "How would Jesus Christ have handled this problem?" and you act accordingly.

Find a quiet place. Be still. Say: "Heavenly Father, I thank You for my life, Your love and Your wisdom. I ask You to work through me as You worked through Your Son Jesus Christ. Teach me to do Your will. Amen."

If you follow this you will gradually find your work is becoming a prayer; that your morning is blessed to you, and that you can pray while you rest. Your eyes will be opened to the good all around you that you didn't notice before.

You will meet new people to love and see new ways to serve. Friends will come from everywhere. Your health and wealth will improve. Your mind will become keen and alter and new truths will become evident to you. Life will move in an orderly sequence of desire, work, fulfillment, and happiness.

Keep this up long enough and you will change your whole life for the better!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/19/09

I am so convinced of two things: (1) that there simply is no problem without an answer, (2) that the problem and the answer are parts of a whole and that it is good and points to growth.

Every problem is an urge to grow. It is an invitation. But having free will, we do not have to accept this invitation. If we decide to wallow in ignorance and remain for ages undeveloped in soul growth, that is seems, it your divine right.

Will you take the invitation?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/18/09

Jesus taught the creative power of every man's word and thought. He explained the law of forgiveness. He stated "neither do I condemn thee; go and sin no more." We do not have to keep on and on paying for a mistake made last year or yesterday. Do not think your losing your job for example is some kind of punishment meted out for some past mistake.

All you have to do to wipe out a past mistake is to call on the law of forgiveness and avoid repeating the mistake again. The Bible states it will then be remembered no more against you.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/17/09

Daily, I run into people who live in fear on a regular basis. Fear tolerated is faith contaminated!

Faith always begins where the will of God is known. And God has not kept His will a secret - His Word is His known will. Our part is to quit taking thoughts that are not ours to take.

If we do have a negative thought, we rebuke it and refuse it any place in our mind. We take authority over our thoughts with our words. In the same way we take wrong thoughts by speaking doubt and unbelief, we take God's thoughts by speaking according to His Word.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/16/09

I have learned that if my faith is not producing the results it should, I need to check my love life (walk). How have I been treating people? Nothing is going to work for me spiritually if I am violating the commandment of love.

The more you practice obeying God in the fundamentals like walking in love, the easier it will be to hear from Him about the details of His plan for your life. Your heart will be sensitive and ready to respond to the slightest divine leading. You will be ready and able to discern the voice of Wisdom calling out to you at the place where the paths meets. You will constantly stay connected to what God has for your life!

Keep the love walk going!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/15/09

God Wants You To Prosper!

I realized sometime ago that God wants His people to prosper. It grieves Him to see His children struggling to pay your monthly obligations. Psalms 35:37 says that God delights in the prosperity, or financial success, of His people. However, many Christians find that hard to believe. In fact, they would rather believe that poverty is a sign of holiness rather than the truth of God's Word.

Please know that debt is a demonic spirit designed to keep you from experiencing the abundant life that Jesus made available to us in John 10:10. Debt destroys marriages, damages credibility, and drives people to suicide, murder and bankruptcy. These are not part of God's plan for the prosperity of His people. And, I know it is not His will for my life!

Why continue to settle "for not having enough" when the Word says God wants to give you more than enough to meet your needs?

Much love,
Joseph

When I keep my eyes on Jesus, what am I looking at?

In Jesus, I see . . .

* the Word of my salvation
* The Life that is my light
* the Author and Finisher of my faith
* the Minister of Grace and Mercy who helps me
* the Father's Love for me
* my High Priest forever over THE BLESSING
* the Eden Covenant in my life
* the riches of God in my times of need
* the kingdom of heaven
* the Lord of my life!

I Focus On Jesus!

As I focus on Jesus, I become whatever I focus on most.

As I focus on Jesus, I become a person who does things heaven's way!

As I focus on Him, I become a person who is grateful and faithful to His Word!

As I focus on Him and His Word, I become a person who holds Jesus as the most precious thing in my life!

As I focus on Jesus, I become the Psalm 112 person He has made me to be!

Thought For Today - 2/12/09

People choose how good their lives will be by choosing how much God's Word they will do. You grow up spiritually when you start doing what He shows you is right.

When you don't do what God shows you, then trouble is always the result!

The truth (God's Word) will make you free when you do what it says. You will continue to think and behave like people living without God in their lives until you change your thinking to agree with God.

Change your mind and you will change your life. And it's the Word of God that will straighten our worldly, twisted thinking!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/11/09

God doesn't give us anything so complicated that we can't do it. Anyone who goes after His Word can understand what He is saying. It's not a faraway secret. It's an open-book test!

This is the key to our life of victory: "The word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it." We must keep the Bible in front of our eyes and ears to get our thinking and believing straightened out.

Get the Word in . . . and do it! Simple enough?

The whole key to prospering in this life is obeying God. The kingdom of heaven is manifest in the earth through obedience. The more we go after the things of God, the more we will prosper in our lives.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/10/09

Every day of my life is like a treasure hunt! Why? Because I'm totally committed to being obedient to God's voice to me - through His Word and His Spirit.

I stay close to Him. I listen. I hear. I can hardly wait to know what His next step is for me. Whether He says, give money to this person, go to the grocery store, every step is significant in fulfilling His purpose for my life.

Your future is tucked away in your heart because God put it there. He gives you insight, and every day He desires to reveal direction to you. Arriving in your future according to the plan of God is totally dependent on hearing and obeying Him, moment by moment, step by step, every day!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/9/09

God has give us His written Word and placed His Spirit within us to provide moment-by-moment direction for our lives. And when we "wake up" and realize diligent obedience to our heavenly Father is "the way to go," life becomes a blessed adventure. Even mundane, daily activity becomes a magnificent journey where we live guided by His Spirit and His Word.

As the Body of Christ, our lives are not to be guesswork. God has a purpose for each of us individually, and for the Body as a whole. All we have to do is obey!

Paul reminds us in Romans 10:8 that faith is rooted in obedience. "The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith, which we preach."

That's where faith is - in your mouth and in your heart. Faith is hearing God and obeying Him - it's as simple as that. The only way any of you will be obedient is to put your faith in God. Obedience doesn't work because you think God's Word is a set of rules. Obedience works because you know in your heart and confess with your mouth that God's Word is your very life. Then you do it!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/8/09

Once you have begun to put God's Word in your heart and on your tongue, you must NOT speak things that will cancel out your confessions. That means not allowing ANYTHING negative to come out of your mouth.

For example, I hear people almost on a daily basis say "I'm broke," "I will never have enough money to do this or do that," or "That confession stuff doesn't work." You just allowed your mouth to get you in trouble. That is often the biggest reason for a delay of manifestation in their life.

You really never know how close you are to receiving what you have been believing God for, and if you open your mouth and begin to confess things that are negative, it is more than likely you will end up back where you first started.

So, guard your mouth.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/7/09

Stay in FAITH.

Whatever God has told you to do, called you to do, you have to do it by faith. If you know that God told you to do what you are doing - you must stay in FAITH. You can not quit! Stay faithful.

I remember back in the 80's when I pastored a church in Jackson, Mississippi. The church members had run off the previous eight pastors. It was very challenging pastoring this church. However, I knew in my spirit God had called me to pastor this church at this particular time. One Sunday morning I arrived to open the church up, making sure things would be ready for services that morning. The head deacon had changed the locks on the church doors and I couldn't get in.

This was a clear sign they didn't want me there. Yet, I knew I was suppose to be there. I simply drove to the deacon house and asked him to either give me the new key to the church doors or come and open the doors himself. Of course I'm not going into a lot of detail here, but you get the main points.

I ended up pastoring this church for over three years. On the day when God called me to another church work, there was not a dry eye in the congregation. I was faithful and stayed in faith to what God had called me to do at the time in my life.

God has called you also to be faithful and stay in faith of the things He has told you to do. No matter what comes your way or happens - stay in FAITH!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought for Today - 2/6/09

There is plenty of trouble in the world. Without the permission of God, things are unsure in this life.

If we want to live in peace, we have to pursue righteousness - we have to follow God and obey His Word. The rewards is substantial - quietness, confidence, peaceful dwelling places, secure homes and rest!

It is a blessing of God that no matter what's happening on the outside, you and I can live in peace.

The truth is, we can be undisturbed during any crisis when we're vitally connected to God.

Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/5/09

When it comes to growing and maturing in the love of God, perhaps no one stands out more in the New Testament as an example for us than the Apostle John, who has been called the "Apostle of Love."

John was the only one of Jesus' hand picked disciples who could not be killed, no matter what his enemies did. History tells us that he was boiled in oil, but that didn't kill him. Other things were tried, but they didn't work either.

Finally John was exiled to the island of Patmos. But even then he could not be stopped because it was on that tiny island that John wrote the book of Revelation.

What made him so invincible?

John had the revelation of love from Jesus and he started confessing it. He centered his faith on it. He loves me ... God loves me ... and God is Love ... Love loves me!

Everyday I pray all that I come in contact with will experience God, will experience Love. Walking in this level of revelation of the love of God has produced a fear-free lifestyle for myself. Being so focus on God's love has kept all fear flushed out.

So believe the love. Receive it. Then keep yourself in it.

As you do, know that darkness won't be able to touch you either!

Much love,

Thought For Today - 2/4/09

Traditional religion has made people think they couldn't depend on the goodness of God. Religion has taught that one day God might make you sick. The next day He might make you poor.

But that is contrary to the written Word of God. God is not confused about good and evil. He knows the definition of a blessing and a cure, and His definition is the same as mines. (I got mines from Him).

In the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 28, you can read the blessings and the curses as He described them to the nation of Israel. (See verses 11-13).

Obviously, God has figured out what's good for us and what's not. He knows it's good when we have more than enough natural provision in our lives. He knows if we plant crops, it's good to reap big harvests. He knows if we have livestock, it's good for them to increase. He knows it's good for our children to be blessed and for us to be physically healthy and whole.

Actually, the Hebrew word Shalom that the Lord uses so frequently to bless His people means to have wholeness in your life - spirit, soul and body. It means you have nothing missing, nothing broken. God knows that is the way things ought to be, and that is the way He wants them to be - not just for a few of His people but for every one of them.

God is good to all!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/3/09

On a weekly basis, I generally have opportunities to listen to individuals and couples share about concerns in their personal relationship. The one thing as I listen that is missing in the relationships is COMMUNICATION.

Every relationship needs open communication. It is a primary way we can walk in the love commandment of God. However it takes EFFORT! Sad to say, it is an effort that many couples don't make.

Successful families don't just happen. They are the result of investments of time, effort, study and practice. Effective communication is one of the essential skills every family needs. It involves not only knowing how to talk to each other, but also knowing how to walk in the love of God.

The foundation scripture for our lives is "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And, the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)

Ladies and gentlemen, your neighbor includes the person closet to you. Loving your neighbor begins at home by loving those you are in contact with every day!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/2/09

Faith makes real to us what we otherwise could only hope for.

The Bible states in Philippians 4:19 that the Lord is our provider. However, until faith give substance to that provision, we can't see it, feel it, eat it or spend it.

Faith - which means trusting in, believing in and relying on the living God as our provision - causes His provision to become tangible. Faith may give substance to provision in the form of a raise, unexpected income, debt cancellation, etc.

The realities of the unseen come into the realities of the seen through faith.

My faith is alive and relevant. What about yours?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/1/09

If you can't say something good, if you haven't grown spiritually strong enough yet to respond with words of faith for situations that come into your life, you shouldn't say anything at all.

You should just be quiet!

Otherwise, you will keep opening your big mouth and talking yourself right out of the blessing of God.

God is not going to force us to be quiet. He doesn't have to. He has already completed the work of salvation through Jesus. He has fulfilled His promise to mankind.

Now He is giving us a choice.

We can either choose life or death. We can choose to believe the Word of God or not. We can choose to take heed to the Word of God or take heed to our circumstances. We can choose to be quiet about those circumstances or we can yap on and on about how awful they are.

It it totally up to you.

If we'll make the right choices and follow God's instructions in His Word, we will be amazed how powerful His Word will work for us in every area of our lives.

Much love,
Joseph
