Thought For Today - 1/31/09

If you are presently experiencing a difficult time, make a quality decision to seek God and obey Him. Do your part. No matter how things looks, don't let your mouth work against you - speak the Word of God over your life. Continue giving, sowing toward the next cycle. And, be thankful to the Lord for the good things you have!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/30/09

I want to encourage you today to start investing more of yourself, more of your time, thought and energy, into seeking the kingdom of God. Determine in your heart to change some areas of your life, to dig into the Word more deeply and find out what God says about those areas. Then start acting like He does instead of like the world.

Heighten your awareness of the kingdom of God. Get more and more kingdom of God minded. Then get ready for the blessing of heaven - the lavish, liberal to excess, extravagant and over abounding favors of the kingdom of God to break through on you!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/29/09

Seek to walk in God's will every day. When He calls on you, don't be too busy doing other things. You can't serve the plan of God for your life and also serve riches, position or anything else you trust in apart from Him. That includes trusting in your own abilities.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/28/09

No matter what challenges you may be facing today, draw close to God - He has the answers you need. His power is available to you through His Word and His Spirit to change any situation.

When the disciples were caught in a raging storm they cried out to Jesus. "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm" (Mark 4:39).

You too can experience a great calm in your life, from a temporary storm or day-to-day stress, by knowing Jesus. He is our ultimate stress relief!

Thought For Today - 1/27/09

The moment you are tempted to draw back in fear from something God tells you to do, you must remember God is a good God. He will ONLY lead you in the path that will bring you blessing and increase.

Yes, the path may be challenging. But, you can rest assured, they will always take you to good places. In the end, you will find that the difficulties along the path were nothing compared to the reward.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/26/09

There are times when we ignore God or disobey Him, and because of that we are unable to receive the help we need from Him. At those times, it may look like He has forsaken us. But that is our fault, not His. He did not forsake us. We forsook Him! He did not leave us. We left Him.

Even then, however, if we will turn back to God, we will find Him right where we left Him - waiting and longing to do us good.

There may be times when you have fallen into disobedience and feel so unworthy you are tempted to think you will be left out of God's blessings. Do not believe that!

The Word tells us if we call on Him, He will raise you back up into fellowship with Him. It says God is good to all. All means "every person in existence anywhere."

It guarantees that you will not be left out unless you want to be. God will not leave you out. His promises are given to everyone. If you will reach out to Him in Jesus' Name, you will receive Him.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/25/09

If you want to see most clearly what God is really like, all you have to do is study love because the Bible says, "God is love" (1 John 4:8). Many people equate God more with power than anything else. Though the Scripture clearly teaches that God has great power, I am not aware of a verse that says He is power, but it does say He is love.

These days the world's idea of love has been so cheapened and twisted that for us to understand the kind of love God personifies, we must again go to the Bible. Go to 1 Corinthians 13 for the perfect description we need.

Thought For Today - 1/24/09

The moment we receive Jesus as Savior and Lord, we find that God is already happy with us. We don't have to bring Him plates of fruit to make Him happy. He is already happy!

What He is doing now is looking for opportunities to do us good and show us favor. You know how people who have hobbies like fishing or golf are always looking for opportunities to do those things? Well, you might say God's favorite pastime is doing good for someone - us - His children.

"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and lovingkindness. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works." Psalm 145: 8-9 (AMP).

Lets enjoy all of this today!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/23/09

Every promise of God, every provision for your life, every answer to every problem is in the invisible realm. You and I are not waiting for things to come to us - things are waiting to be taken hold of by us!

Faith brings everything into the visible realm - believing whatever you desire is already yours and taking it.

What have you prayed and asked God for? Is is a health issue? Say this, "By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed. I take my healing now!"

Have you prayed and asked God for financial freedom? It is there in the invisible realm - just waiting for you to take it.

Do what Jesus said to do in Mark 11:24, "Whatever things you desire or want or need, when you pray, believe you take and posses them and you shall have them."

Take hold of what God has promised - lay hold of the invisible!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/22/09

We are God's people whose lifestyle is supposed to be "We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 4:18, 5:7).

Natural thinking says, "Seeing is believing." But supernatural thinking declares, "Believing is seeing."

Believing comes before seeing if we're to receive all the good things God has in store for us.

Today is your day to receive what you're believing for - it's your day to lay hold on the invisible!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/21/09

Speak the Word of God about situations you are dealing with and nothing else.

Sit down with praise on your lips. Sit down declaring, "I have a Father and He is God. He is my strength and I trust in Him. He is my overflowing power. He is the sustainer of my life. I don't fear when I walk through the dark valley because my God is with me and He is the biggest One in the valley! I don't have a care in the world because He cares for me!"

Thought For Today - 1/20/09

Today is January 20, 2009. Today is the day that Barack Obama will become the 44Th President of the United States of America.

We as Christians are instructed to pray for our leaders according to 1 Timothy 2:1-6,

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time. (NIV)

Here is my prayer for him. It is found in Ephesians 3:14-19,

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen President Barack Obama with power through His Spirit in President Barack Obama inner being, so that Christ may dwell in President Barack Obama heart through faith. And I pray that President Barack Obama, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that President Barack Obama may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/19/09

While you are sitting and waiting for the wisdom of God to become clear to you regarding situations, there will be times when you are tempted to start worrying again. There will be times when darkness tries to push you into fear. When that happens, don't come out of grace and start crying to God about how bad things are.

Pray in faith about the situation. Don't abandon the rest of God. Keep your heavenly seat and obey the instructions Jesus gave us in John 14: "Let not your heart be troubled; ye beleive in God, believe also in me. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (verses 1,27).

Yoga Bootcamp Was A Success

Yoga Style Fitness (Joseph) and Velociti Fitness League had their first of many all day Yoga bootcamp in Arlington last Saturday - January 17. Over 26 individuals attended the bootcamp and they were all of various levels - beginner to advance.

Comments from the attendees . . .

"Thanks Joseph! I really enjoyed it and am not as sore as I feared!" - Esther

"Thank you for the great workshop yesterday. I am sore, but took a swim today and feel much better. I just loved everything about it - the team of helpers, the yoga sessions, lunch all of it!" - Katie

"Just wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful retreat yesterday! After I left there I went to church, and the gospel reading was when God was calling to Samuel, and Samuel kept mistaking the call, he thought it was from his master Eli. My priest discussed in the sermon that God speaks to us through many different people and in many different ways, and that we have to stop and listen, because we may not always recognize his call. That is exactly what we were talking about at the retreat! I truly believe that yoga makes me a better Catholic! Thank you again for being in my life! God Bless!" - Mary

Comments from the Yoga assistants . . .

"The people were really wonderful and I enjoyed meeting them, and being able to serve and love them." - Dana

"It was such a treat to see you in action during yesterday's boot camp and I was so honored to be a part of it." - Bethany

We are planning on having another All Day Yoga Bootcamp in April 2009. Look for information on this blog and my website: www.yogastylefitness.com for updates.

Thought For Today - 1/18/09

James 1:2-6 is one place you can find great instructions regarding any situation,

Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

In other words, sit down believing that God’s wisdom is on the way.

Stop wearing yourself out racking your brain hour after hour, searching every corner and cranny for the answer thinking, What should I do? What should I do? Oh, I just don’t know what to do.

You don’t know what to do, so stop talking to yourself about it and start talking to God instead. Say, “Lord, what do You want me to do about this problem?” That is a question God will always answer if we ask it in faith. He will show us what to do in every test and trial – even those we brought on ourselves by our own foolishness.

Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/17/09

Today is an all day Yoga Bootcamp I'm hosting in Arlington. Today is a day that God is so faithful to me. He has never failed me nor will He ever. All that is good comes from Him.

I am grateful today for God's mercy. His mercy is everlasting. Today is a day I will blessed and praise the name of God. I will rejoice and be glad in Him. Why? Because He loved me before I loved myself.

I will praise Him. Without God I could not think and I could not feel. I can not do anything without Him. Yet, I feel, I think because of Him and I can do all things through His Son - Christ Jesus!

God is truth. His Word is truth. God and His Word has prepared a path for me. The path includes life and blessings - in this life and the life to come.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/16/08

If you are walking/living in offense (being offended) you are walking/living in un-forgiveness. If this is the case, then you are not receiving from God. The Word tells us to forgive all.

Darkness main job is to take or steal from you what God has put in you. Darkness does not want the Word to grow in your heart (spirit). If you have un-forgiveness in your heart towards anyone - you will not and can not be blessed by God. Darkness can not take anything from you unless you give it up.

God's Word will teach and show you how to walk in love, victory, forgiveness, blessings, etc. Ask God to reveal any un-forgiveness to you so you can repent of it, begin to grow and live the life God meant for you to live.

God's Word is rich, full of life, full of joy, full of prosperity that will keep you on the right path.

Joseph

This is pretty short but sweet.

The world may throw some problems your way, but there is nothing Jesus has not already overcome. That is what He said. That is what we say. And, that pretty much settles it!

Once you step up, take your stand with God and know that this life you are now living by faith in Jesus Christ is the life God designed for you - there will be nothing that can move you from your stand!

All reading this, I have stepped up and taken my stand with God. There is no turning back. Beside, I have nowhere else to go.

Joseph

Thougth For Today - 1/14/09

God's Word doesn't say we will never have problems or trouble. As a matter of fact, from Genesis to Revelation the Bible seems like a history of nothing but trouble. But, its' also the history of God bringing people out of trouble - the history of people receiving God's promise by faith.

Many of you reading this blog are in trouble and have problems!

For every trouble, problem or circumstance anyone has ever faced, God has a promise to cover it. His Word is final authority over them all. The victory comes when we have developed our faith. When we know what His Word says about our authority and His victory, we can make our stand of faith with confidence.

Get in the Word today and grow your faith!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/13/09

Today, make a decision to learn and understand everything God has provided for you through His Son, Jesus. But, in order to do this, you may have to get rid of the “religious tradition” in your thinking.

If you seek God and His kingdom, digging into His Word, discover His way of doing things will be nothing but GOOD NEWS TO YOU!

When you discover how God’s Word works and it works just like He said, it will open up a whole new life for you. You will begin to walk through new door of His way of living. Your decisions will become renewed. You will no matter what – stay on the Lord’s side. You will live your lives by faith according to His Word and enjoy the benefits He has provided for you in Christ Jesus.

Today, if you have not done so, set out to develop the spirit of faith in your live – the same spirit of faith in which you see so many operated in the Bible. You will begin to see God’s Word as His book of promises. You will discover that He is a promise-keeping, glorious heavenly Father.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/12/09

Jesus said, “In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you]” (John 16:33, The Amplified Bible)

Jesus stated a fact of the world’s bad news and followed right up with the truth of His good news!

I realized, with every problem I have a choice. I can lie down and let the facts of that problem trample over me, or take my stand by faith, believe the truth of Jesus’ Word and receive His overcoming victory.

I decided no matter what the tribulation, trial, distress or frustration, I would not cross the line back into darkness or its’ arena, and I would not let darkness and its’ arena take over mines.

I drew the line and took my stand on Jesus’ side. It was the best decision I ever made!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/11/09

God desires a relationship with us. He wants to answer questions, to give us direction, and wants us to enjoy the peace and refreshing that comes from spending time with Him.

Religion creates a bland routine, but a relationship with Jesus ignites the power to overcome sin and to prosper in every area of your life.

As you form a relationship with God you will begin to recognize His voice when He speaks. You will begin to talk comfortably to Him and without fear or anxiety. You will share your heart with Him openly and honestly. You will find answers to your specific questions. And, much, much more.

Why not start today - or restart?

Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/10/09

Daily I talk to individuals who have problems with relationships. The problem relationships can be in the work place, at home or with relatives. In talking in detail with the individuals the one thing I found out from them is their relationship with God is not there or in the Yoga community we say "present."

In simple, they have no personal relationship with God. It's going to be pretty challenging if not impossible to maintain any good lasting relationship with anyone if your relationship with God is on shaky grounds.

If you need more details regarding forming a stronger relationship with God - contact me.

Thought For Today - 1/9/09

The other day I was having lunch with my pastor. He made a statement regarding me. He said when I speak I make things sound so simple. My spiritual background has many roles such as pastor, teacher, administrator to name a few. However, one role that has been with me on a constant basis is the gift of being a prophet. I generally in the spiritual realm only see things as black or white - no gray.

The following statement is pretty clear in itself (no gray areas). Without vital, continual union with God, we will not be spiritually strong enough to do what we know to do!

My prayer is that you will have a deeper walk, experience and revelation of God. I pray that He will strengthen you in your commitment to put His first in your life and make a living connection with Jesus every day.

I know from personal experience, it will forever change your life.

Much love,
Joseph

Prayer Request

I'm asking for you to pray for the family of a member of a Roller Derby Team in Mesquite.

Once a month, I conduct a Yoga session with the team. I was just informed Thursday that one of their members passed away in her sleep on Tuesday night.

And, please pray for the Roller Derby Team. We are completely shocked and sadden over this!

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Joseph

God created man a unique being - a speaking spirit. God gave man the unique gift of intelligent speech, and that intelligent speech contains the power both to create and to arrange things.

We arrange things when we speak. We arrange our lives, and we arrange the atmosphere around us - at home, our place of work, everywhere.

Chose and speak your words as the line up with the Word of God. Let the arrangement have a positive effect not negative.

Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/7/09

Make no plans based on what the news media says or what the politicians say. The Lord Jesus always reveals to us things to come. We are not in a recession. We are BLESSED. We are not in a depression. We are in the kingdom of God, where there is no depression.

Repeat the above over and over until it gets inside your spirit. We are blessed going out and blessed coming in. We are blessing rising up and blessed laying down. Believe 2009 is your best year yet!

Thought For Today - 1/6/09

OK, hold onto your seat. What you are about to read may or may not shock you. I grew up in what was called back then "Holiness" church. The Church denomination was called Church of God In Christ (COGIC). I heard the teaching and preaching many, many years ago that our Lord and Savior was soon to return. I know He is closer now than ever before. I don't hear many churches or believers in Christ speak of His return. Many are going about their lives as if they will live forever.

Well, I heard in my spirit during my quiet time a few days ago - the Lord is soon to return. And, it is sooner than we think. We must keep our eyes on Him in order to be ready when He returns.

Let Jesus be responsible for leading and guiding your every step. Let Him be your Lord. Let Him be your Savior. Let Him be your High Priest!

Turn your attention to the Word of God. Open your ears to what He is saying. Open your eyes to see what He is doing. Open your understanding by committing yourself to acting on what He leads you to do. Do not hold out nothing for yourself. Only let your will count for what God's plan for your life is. His will is FINAL AUTHORITY!

We must love Him. We must love His people as He loves us. We must walk in love - DAILY! Love never fails and neither will God's plan for our lives.

Do whatever you have to do in order to be ready for our Lord's return.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/5/09

Daily, I see myself not as a poor person trying to get from one day to the next, but as extremely wealthy - spiritually, mentally, physically and financially.

When my finances are short, instead of saying, "I can't afford that..." I say, "I'm blessed, glory to God!

When I first begin to say those things, my circumstances were not any different than they ever were. I still did not have money. I was still loaded down with debt. But inside I saw myself differently, and before long the revelation I had on the inside began to change what was on the outside.

God's blessing began to expand in my life and change the atmosphere around me. Life just kept getting better and better! You might ask? How do you get this way? This can only come through revelation. Once the revelation explodes in your spirit - you will never be the same. The revelation can only come through the reading and mediation of God's Word and time in prayer.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today 1/4/09

Some people feel self-sufficient. They think they are smart enough or talented enough to do things on their own. Though they may have some good results, they will never see the supernatural results they would if they were dependent on God!

For me, self-sufficiency is not a temptation. Pretty much everything I do is impossible, so I have to begin every day dependent on God, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I have to start my day off with connecting with God. I have to talk to Him about the things I will face that day. I cannot afford to step out of my home before I have spent time with God!

The same is true for you. Become so dependent on God that when you encounter for example, financial trouble, you will not run to your banker – you will run to God!

The more you depend on God, the more you open the door for God to be active in your life. It is your (our) dependency on Him that clears the way for Him to move in your life. Don’t make any decisions by yourself. You do not know the future. Lean on the Holy Spirit. He knows what is ahead!

Joseph

Thought For Today - 1/2/09

We all desire the blessings of God. In our hearts we want to follow God’s direction, for we instinctively know that to do so is to reach our highest goal. But, the sad thing is that we so often do not know how, or worse yet, that we neglect to try.

Start this year of 2009 by learning to pray – DAILY! Prayer will keep us in tune with all the time with God. There is no lasting success or happiness without divine direction from God.

Start your morning by praying and blessing God and through out your day – even while you work. Then, as you prepare for sleep – pray as you lay your head on the bed and continue praying as you rest through out the night.

Thought For Today - 1/1/09

In walking in 2009 lets make it a point to get to know God and His Goodness!

The more we know God’s goodness, the more we trust Him. The more we trust Him, the easier it is for us to put our lives into His hands. And only by placing our lives in His hands can we open the way for Him to save us, bless us and work through us, so that His wonderful will can be done on earth as it is done in heaven in 2009!

I pray that you reading this blog the revelation of God’s goodness will help you receive from Him whatever you need.

Perhaps you have not yet taken the first step of your journey of faith because you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Maybe you have heard about Him, and you even believe the things you have heard are true.

If so, you are not alone. Many people (even good, church going folks) are in that condition right now. They know about Jesus, but they do not have a living relationship with Him.

Don’t be afraid to give your life to Jesus. He will not deprive you of the good things you want or need. Fear will make you draw back because you are not really sure God has your best interest at heart. Understand this, God is a good God!

I have personally continued to trust God with my life. I have seen the evidence of His goodness continue to increase until it has totally overwhelmed me.

The more I have come to know the goodness of the Lord, the more I have come to believe that God wants all of us to give our lives to Him so He can lavishly, without reserve, pour His blessing upon us. He wants all of us to be so blessed that everywhere we look, we see the goodness of God.

Question? Where will you be in 2010 if you don’t start believing to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living? You will be right where you are now. Things will be no better in your life. In fact, they will probably be worse because darkness will still be unhindered in its’ work to steal, kill and destroy.

But, if you will find out what the Bible says about God’s goodness and you will dare to believe it, things will begin to change in a wonderful way. Your life will immediately begin to improve. A year from now, you will not only see that goodness on the pages of your Bible, you will see it around you every day of your life.

That is what I call living!

Have a great 2009!

Much love,
Joseph
