Thought For Today - 10/31/10

It is important that we understand that some of our past patters have caused problems for us. And, today, the present, we need to change them.

So many people I come in contact with are totally unaware that they are yet challenged with their past. So, what happens? They repeat their past on a regular basis that they now can not tell the different from their past and their present.

Looking at their situation I only see them living in the present with challenges of their past. The only way out is to seek and ask God to show you how to release and repent of past patterns.

From personal experience, repentance has allowed me to be present and break away from my past. Then, healing takes place.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/30/10

Here are a few things I strive to keep going in my life:

1) a close relationship with God
2) ability to see that I'm not always right
3) ability to walk in integrity even when no one is watching
4) ability to repent and change if necessary
5) committed to growing and walking more in the love of God
6) committed to helping others grow and walk (more) in the love of God
7) committed to receive forgiveness

Of course there are more, but I believe this list will do for now.:) Maybe, just maybe you will see yourself in the above.:)

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/29/10

This past weekend I over extended myself in saying "yes" to teach Yoga three classes within a 3 hour period. To say the least, I didn't enjoy this decision I made due to rushing here and there. But, the decision gave me the opportunity to reflect back to why I learned to say "no" and become more loving for myself some time ago.

So many times we are moving at 100 miles per hour and not taking the quality and necessary time to care for ourselves! From personal experience as we treat ourselves with gentleness, tenderness and compassion, then we can give the same to others.

The only way I have been able to love and give unlimited love to others is because I learned to love and give unlimited love to myself first.

Maybe, you should do the same?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/28/10

All of my teaching Yoga is centered around a certain mindset - a focus of bringing people into the knowledge and experience of Christ. I'm not teaching and serving students only to improve the quality of their lives.

I'm teaching and serving with the purpose of showing them the hope they can find in the love of God. The generosity that I'm showing them is driven by who Christ is in my life.

Everything I say and do must point them towards experiencing a life filled with the love of God! Yes, love has everything to do with it!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/27/10

I am finding that whenever I find something that meets a need (music, words of encouragement, hugs, adjustment of poses, just to name a few) and makes people excited about coming to the Yoga classes I teach, it is probably worth doing.

Whatever you find that will meet a need and make people excited about something that is positive and uplifting, yes, it is probably worth doing.

What are you waiting for?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/26/10

When you see the world through the eyes of love (God's love) you are awakened to view it from a new perspective. You begin your day with "who can I be a blessing to today? or who can I love on purpose today?"

Today I invite you to join with me and actively pursue those that are hurting, forgotten and who just need someone to love them unconditionally.

Let them know that you will do what is in your ability to serve them, show them hope and the love of God.

This is what it is all about! As you do this you will allow God to touch the lives of others in ways you never dreamed possible!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/25/10

People are seeking healing for their souls. Many have found healing in the Yoga classes I teach. My heart is to serve them with humility, extreme generosity and compassion.

They are days I am so overwhelmed of the presence of God's love for the students attending classes I teach. Those are the days that a sweetness comes into the rooms that only one can experience being there.

Because of what I see God doing in the lives of these students, I'm more passioned to serve them. They inspire me! But, I yet believe my greatest opportunities lie ahead.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/24/10

My life is an open book to many. Practicing Yoga has helped with this. Not only has my personal walk with Christ increased through my Yoga practice, but I also learned how to really surrender all to God.

Through my practice of Yoga I gain the courage and was able to make a conscious decision to just be myself, my best self, my best self that includes Christ.

Because of practicing Yoga I became more willing to share Christ with this community (the Yoga community) in a more focus way. I became more open about my beliefs rather than hiding it.

Yes, I have been a follower, believer and lover of Christ for many, many years. Now, because of my daily practice of Yoga, I'm open to share this truth with all I come in contact with.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/23/10

Daily I have asked God to allow His love to be experienced through me to others. I asked Him to let His love be expressed in all the ways that people I come in contact with need at that moment. A need that may not be so obvious to me!

In the classes and people I meet there are various types of hurts that are not easy for me to recognize. Yet, I know they are there in the mist of my community and your community.

Today how about asking God to help you find the hurting and let God show you how to serve them today. I am!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/22/10

Short and sweet today.:)

If you love someone or something it is not a burden to care for it. In fact, we are honored to have anything to do with them or it.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

(1 Corinthians 13:3-7, Message Bible)

Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/21/10

The fastest way I have found to get release from hurting emotionally is to get involved with serving someone else need.

In so many, many times I have done this I saw God step in and took care of my need. Too many times I had to stop looking on the inside at what Joseph was going through and look on the outside to notice other's challenges.

So, today, take time to look outside of your hurts and pains and find someone maybe in worst condition than you are (and there are many out there) and see how you can ease their hurt and pain!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/20/10

There are days that I have been challenged in situations I care not to mention. I had a choice to either become offended or walk in love. If I became offended, then I would be blocking my blessings.

Accepting offense from anyone or anything will only hinder you! If you receive the offense, you will begin to hear a whisper that God does not love you, or He does not have good things in store for you, and the list can go on and on and on. You know that whisper is not from God!

During this time you must release the offense (or not take it) and ask God for His strength to move forward. He actually wants you to release it and move forward more than you do.:)

My prayer for you in this is to choose to not take the offense, don't allow doubt, fear or the wrong whisper enter your mind.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/19/10

I remember when I was a child I would run to my mother for comfort. From her I would receive nurturing, acceptance and unconditional love. All of this came from her heart and it went right into my heart.

Today when I need comforting I run to God. I yet receive from Him nurturing, acceptance and unconditional love. But, to add to His nurturing is healing of my spirit. It is renewed. My heart is opened up. And, I'm happy to be in His presence.

Thought For Today - 10/18/10

"Today is a great day to be alive." That is the message heard cell phone voice mail. This is being present. I value and cherish today as if it was my last day alive, not allowing fear to enter to rob me of this joy.

Living in the past will keep you tired, confused and fearful. The past is our school master. We learn from it. But, we do not dwell in it. We move into the present.

"Today is the day the Lord has made and I will be glad in it."

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/17/10

My goal is to always communicate with people through their hearts. The mind is connected to the heart. If I can reach their heart - their mind will follow (or soon follow).

My goal is to let love reach their heart so they can experience and receive clarity. This is when I actually see in their eyes "life" that I have never seen before.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It's power and wisdom is available to all who will receive. Then, we can begin to experience things we thought we would or could not.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/16/10

It has taken me a while to really live in the moment or be present. It is such an important truth that even Jesus stated to not think about what will happen tomorrow.

Personally, it is a waste of time to try to hold onto the past. It is just as much as a waste of time if you jump into the future which has not arrive yet.

I have done both. But, now I stay in the present, the moment. This is the only place where I find happiness, joy and love. And, I make it a habit to make being present count.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/15/10

For the past few weeks I had some challenges regarding various things. I thought about calling some friends to hear an encouraging word. Because I know I don' want any of my friends to go through their challenges alone.

Yet, I felt a strong urge to take the challenges to God. But, I went to Him as a friend not seeking Him as a Father. Those times just within the last few weeks has been so amazing!

I found as I shared my thoughts on what was going on it was not a burden to God. He didn't make me feel self-conscious about what I was challenged with. At the end on each conversation with God, He assured me that He was glad to be there for me.

Again, this is amazing, not only has God been my Father, but now I consider Him as my BEST FRIEND!

Something you might want to try!:)

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/14/10

Some of you are experiencing a new journey in your life. You are not sure where your next step will or is suppose to take you. Yes, I can relate!

Some of your questions include what is your next life lesson, where will you live next, what is your next job or career, what will you do about money, and the list can go on and on. Yes, I can relate!

For me regarding the above, God had and has all the answers. But, you can't hear the answers because you are too busy trying to make things happen yourself. Yes, I can for sure relate!

Allow God to speak to you regarding just one question. Then, move onto the next and the next until they all are answered. Begin to trust and know that God has the answers, you just need to hear them from Him.

Get quiet, become still, listen and maybe write down what you hear. This process will change your life! Yes, I can relate!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/13/10

When we choose not to be loving, love will depart from us. People for the most part tend to be to us what we are to them. There is then the matter of it being challenging to love others when we do not love ourselves.

You can remain who you are and go deeper into a world full of "looking out for #1," or allow God to come into your heart and be transformed into His Light. This is your true self.

Once this is done, take a closer look on the inside, you will find God. Take a closer look at others, and you will also find God.

Love is the key.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/12/10

There are days that situations occur in your life to bring you down. Many times the situations had nothing to do with you doing anything wrong.

The key is staying positive, staying in love (love of God) and watch the words that come out of your mouth! In one sentence - stay in the attitude of thanking God for His goodness in spite of what is happening.

As I have done this in many, many situations, God saw me through, got me through and His mercy endured. I now don't have to fight to not get discourage when situations happen that are challenging. Instead I thank God for taking care of the situation, however He sees fit.:)

I learned to stay in faith, have patience and keep my love walk moving forward. You can do the same!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/11/10

I have been in situations that I needed to forgive others. I could not do it by how I felt. I had to forgive by faith. Believing that God would help me to forgive, but I could not forgive with my own strength. You ever experience this?

Making the decision to forgive was the first step and maybe the most challenging. But, I was determine to follow God's Word - I was going to forgive!

Then, I kept my mouth shut regarding that person or situation. I refused to say anything negative. I even refuse to think on it no more than a few seconds.

The truth of the matter, we can not be moved by what we feel regarding forgiveness. Forgiveness is an act of our personal will, not our personal feelings. Yep, something else to think about?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/10/10

Jesus said, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:34-35).

The attest of my commitment to God is the love I have for others. If I am outside of love, then I am outside of the will of God, no matter how justified I may feel I am.

If I am not attempting to grow and walk in love with the people around me, I am pretty much living in darkness. Without love, it does not matter what I do, I will fall short of allowing God to be expressed in my life. And without His expression in all that I do, I might as well not bother to do it at all.

Something to think about?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/9/10

It is very important that I maintain an attitude of thanksgiving to God. Many times challenges are looking me in the face. I have prayed and believed God for changes regarding the challenges which are based on His Word (the Bible). Then, as I stand in faith with patience surrounded with love, I begin to just thank God in the midst of the challenges for wait for them to change.

My past personal experience in this has shown me that I'm able to move forward in spite of the challenges of life. If you just become thankful to God for what He is doing and what He will do, you will see your situations change too!

I have found myself rejoicing in the morning, on my way to teach a class, during lunch time, on my way to teach a class in the evening and right before I head to bed.

I even rejoice when I don't feel like it. And, it has made the difference. These are truths that have worked in my personal life and will work in yours too.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/8/10

Have you ever felt that your time has come to do those things you were born to do? The conditions may not be perfect.

Your life yet has challenges surrounding it. Your finance are not where you want them to be. Still, there is a knowing on the inside that your time is now and it must be fulfilled!

Yes, now is the time for you to move into your calling. Only you know what that calling is. No longer can you hold back what you are feeling. Something is drawing you out. It is like a woman in labor and the baby is about to come forth!

You hear the yes in your soul. You feel the yes coming out of your mouth. You will say yes. It is time! And, when you do, say yes, then will you find your true self.

I talk from experience.:)

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/7/10

Ever had and keep having the same dream over and over? Me too. I now realize that if the dream(s) keep coming back, take a long look at it.

In your dreams, will you be able to be a blessing to others? In your dreams, will you be able to contribute more to society? If so, your dreams I believe are God given.

I have had dreams for years over and over again. And, I have not been able to let them go. Yes, I have tried, but they are still there.

I finally asked God to give me the ability to bring the dreams into existence. I asked for His guidance and direction. I can now say, some are actually coming true.

Don't let your dreams pass by.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/6/10

My life is pretty simple (at least I believe so).:) But, there was a time that my life was filled with negative attitudes and painful memories.

I often hear the same from students that attend Yoga classes I teach. They want to know how I was able to release the negative attitudes, painful memories, etc. From conversation with them, they want an easy fix or way out.

There is an easy way out - falling in love with God. I just let go. I let go of how I thought my life should be and embrace the life that God had prepared for me and was trying to work into my life.

Yes, it was a challenge to let go. There was fear of surrender of all I was to God. Some of the release was instant while other parts was/is progressive. But, it did happen and is yet happening. And, I can say with a clear mind that "It's all good."

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/5/10

Some of you know this about me. However, I felt a desire to express it in writing (again) for some that might not.:)

God is the Head of my life. He lives in me. His Love lives in me. I am one of His instruments in the earth. I know this for a fact! I'm bold enough to speak the Words the Bible speaks and do whatever Jesus tells me to do.

The main thing Jesus tells me to do is "walk in love." Not my love, but His love. In doing so I see people in the hundreds and sometimes thousands that come to the classes I teach weekly to experience His love and sometimes His Words of life!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/4/10

Many times I'm press to meet and talk to many students that I have to limit the conversation to just a few minutes. But, one thing I do is that 1-2 minutes, I look each student in the eye as they share with me.

Many times I listen without responding with words. I don't offer advice, suggestions, or solutions. I listen with my heart. I listen with Love. I listen with compassion. I listen as if this is the last conversation we will have.

At the end of their words. I put my arms around them, give them a big hug and tell them I love them so much!

Sometimes we just need to listen, not speak and let the love of God shine through us into that person. Many times a hug is all that is needed.

Trying hugging 10 people today without saying a word and see what happens and what you experience.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/3/10

I often tell people if they are not in position to do what they are called to do on this earth that is OK for right now. However, I tell them to do not let their dream, desire and calling lie dormant.

They should keep hope and faith alive of the inside. Keep believing God will help them get to the place they are suppose to be. The place where their gifts, dreams, talents will be used for His Glory!

This is something I had to do and continually doing. I left the disappointments and failures behind in the past. And, I thank God daily for what is yet on the inside of me as I press forward with faith in Him.

You do the same!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/2/10

Years ago God advised me that He is bigger than any situation I have or will ever have. He is also bigger than any situation that the world has. He is bigger than job layoffs, recessions, or 401K and stock market losses.

So, remember that when fear comes and knocks on your door (your mind mainly) and speaks lack to you, just remember there is no storage in God.

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 10/1/10

Every situation is an opportunity in love. Every situation can also be an opportunity to show forgiveness which can be an opportunity to see if we have real love on the inside of us.

That is the Power Of Love! That is the Power of Forgiveness! And both are done by faith in God, not in ourselves. We can't love nor can forgive in our own self. It can and will only come forth by knowing God.

Much love,
Joseph
