Thought For Today - 2/3/09

On a weekly basis, I generally have opportunities to listen to individuals and couples share about concerns in their personal relationship. The one thing as I listen that is missing in the relationships is COMMUNICATION.

Every relationship needs open communication. It is a primary way we can walk in the love commandment of God. However it takes EFFORT! Sad to say, it is an effort that many couples don't make.

Successful families don't just happen. They are the result of investments of time, effort, study and practice. Effective communication is one of the essential skills every family needs. It involves not only knowing how to talk to each other, but also knowing how to walk in the love of God.

The foundation scripture for our lives is "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And, the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)

Ladies and gentlemen, your neighbor includes the person closet to you. Loving your neighbor begins at home by loving those you are in contact with every day!

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/2/09

Faith makes real to us what we otherwise could only hope for.

The Bible states in Philippians 4:19 that the Lord is our provider. However, until faith give substance to that provision, we can't see it, feel it, eat it or spend it.

Faith - which means trusting in, believing in and relying on the living God as our provision - causes His provision to become tangible. Faith may give substance to provision in the form of a raise, unexpected income, debt cancellation, etc.

The realities of the unseen come into the realities of the seen through faith.

My faith is alive and relevant. What about yours?

Much love,
Joseph

Thought For Today - 2/1/09

If you can't say something good, if you haven't grown spiritually strong enough yet to respond with words of faith for situations that come into your life, you shouldn't say anything at all.

You should just be quiet!

Otherwise, you will keep opening your big mouth and talking yourself right out of the blessing of God.

God is not going to force us to be quiet. He doesn't have to. He has already completed the work of salvation through Jesus. He has fulfilled His promise to mankind.

Now He is giving us a choice.

We can either choose life or death. We can choose to believe the Word of God or not. We can choose to take heed to the Word of God or take heed to our circumstances. We can choose to be quiet about those circumstances or we can yap on and on about how awful they are.

It it totally up to you.

If we'll make the right choices and follow God's instructions in His Word, we will be amazed how powerful His Word will work for us in every area of our lives.

Much love,
Joseph
